Born and raised in Middletown, Ohio (Go Buckeyes!).
Surrendered to the ministry at 17 years old (after getting kicked out of high school).
Married Joleen in 1982. They have one child: Zachariah born in 1996.

• Attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri (BS in Theology)
• Went to graduate school in Kirkland, Washington at Northwest Graduate School of the Ministry (Bakke) (MA in Ministry)

• Ministry experience: Served in seven churches (small and large) doing all sorts of ministry stuff travelled in full time evangelism; served in a mission agency (UWM)
• Other experiences: Worked as a machinist, a steel worker, a roughneck (oil rigs), a janitor, a construction worker, a landscaper and a floor installer.

Claim to fame: Won four national Taekwondo championships (1979-1982).
