The “Small” Stuff Isn’t Small

Okay, can we just agree on something?

Kids Ministry is not for the faint of heart.

 It’s glitter. It’s cheerios. Its bathroom breaks at the exact wrong moment. It’s repeating the same instruction… five times. 

 And yet — this matters so much.

 Sometimes what we do can feel small. Setting up chairs. Printing labels. Rocking a baby. Sitting with a kid who doesn’t want to participate. But in God’s kingdom, small obedience is never small.

 When we treat these kids the way Jesus treats us — with patience, kindness, and grace — we’re showing them who He is. And let’s be honest, Jesus has been extremely patient with us. So, we can pass that along.

 We get to choose humility.

We get to value others above ourselves.

We get to go the extra mile — even when we’re tired, even when it’s inconvenient.

 And here’s the key: when we make time for Jesus first, we don’t walk into that classroom running on fumes. We walk in filled up. And filled-up people love better.

 These kids may not remember every Bible story.

But they will remember how they felt.

Safe. Seen. Loved.

 So, when it feels small, remember — it’s not small.

He sees it.

And He’s using it.

 And yes… even the glitter.
