The Mind-Blowing Wonder of Jesus

Let’s be honest: Christmas can feel a little… busy.
Between decorating, shopping, and running from event to event, it’s easy for the story of Jesus to slip into the “I already know this” category.

But pause for a second.
Because what we’re celebrating?
It’s actually mind-blowing.

1. Christmas Wasn’t Just a Moment—It Was the Plan All Along

Sometimes we think of Christmas like God said, “Okay, humans messed up. Time to fix it.”
But that’s not the story at all.

God planned Jesus before the world even existed.
Before Adam and Eve.
Before sin.
Before Bethlehem.
Before the manager.

Christmas wasn’t God scrambling.
It was God fulfilling a plan He’d been writing since the beginning of time.

That means the story we tell kids this month isn’t just a cute holiday story.
It’s the biggest, oldest, most epic rescue plan ever.

2. Kids Are Wired for Wonder (And You Get to Bring It!)

One of the best things about serving with kids is that they don’t overthink everything like adults do.
They’re naturally full of wonder.
They’re curious.
They’re open.

And every Sunday, you get to take this giant, beautiful, ancient story of Jesus and make it real for them.

You get to help them see:
“Wow, God planned this whole thing because He loves us. That’s amazing!”

That is such a cool privilege.

3. The Good News Is Still Good

Even if you’ve heard the Christmas story a hundred times…
Even if you could recite Luke 2 in your sleep…
Even if you’ve already wrapped 15 Christmas presents this week…

The good news is still good.

God came close.
Jesus showed up in the most unexpected way.
And it changed everything.

That’s something to celebrate like it’s brand new—even for us grown-ups.

4. A Simple Encouragement for You

As you serve this season:

• Look for the little moments of wonder.

• Enjoy the laughter, the questions, the chaos (as much as possible 😄).

• Let the Christmas story hit your heart again.

• Remember you’re part of God’s plan too—not just helping run a classroom.

What you do matters.
Kids may forget the craft, but they’ll remember the way you made Jesus feel real and joyful and close.

Jesus, help us slow down and remember the wonder of who You are.
Let us feel the excitement of Your story again.
Use us to show kids the good news in real ways.
Thank You for choosing us to be part of Your plan.
