Six for Supper
Music may be the universal language on earth, but food is the universal love! We love to eat good food and share it with our friends and family. Food slows us down and promotes friendship-building conversations. It helps us make new friends or catch up with old ones. Meeting over a meal brings people closer, especially if they’re eating fondue.
What is Six for Supper?
Six for Supper is a simple way to meet people and make new friends.
How does Six for Supper work?
Look around our church, then invite five people you would like to share a meal with.
Pick a good time and place to eat together.
You can eat at a restaurant or someone’s home. You can eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You can even eat breakfast for dinner. You can eat BBQ riblets at Applebee's or host a BBQ in your backyard. Picnics are good; nitpicks not so much. *Sundays are a great time to do six for supper!
Repeat the process with five other people.
Try to do six for supper with at least 30 people this summer (or at least 15). Remember, the more people you eat with, the more friends you make!
Tips for a successful Six for Supper…
1. Invite both young and old, singles and couples, as well as men and women, to your dinner meetings.
2. Everyone pays their check, or splits the check if you go family-style. Everyone brings something to a backyard BBQ.
3. Choose whether to bring kids or not to bring kids to your dinner.
4. Try to fill the spot if someone cancels. There is always someone open to a last-minute invitation.
5. Try to spend time with everyone at the dinner. Don’t leave anyone out of the conversation.
