Living In Christ > Living Like Christ!
We’re studying Paul’s letter to the Ephesians this Fall. The Apostle Paul wrote Ephesians in A.D. 62 during his first Roman imprisonment to teach the Christians living in and around the city of Ephesus how to live in Christ so they could live like Christ.
In the first three chapters of Ephesians, Paul shows Christians their spiritual wealth in Christ by listing all their spiritual possessions: adoption, redemption, inheritance, power, life, grace, citizenship, and the love of Christ. Then, after he shows Christians their riches in Christ in chapters 1-3, Paul uses chapters 4-6 to teach Christians their responsibility to live like Christ. Paul does this by giving believers thirty-five directives that tell them how to practically live out their Christian faith in their day to day relationships. Every relationship a Christian has in church, marriage, home, or work is to be transformed by their new life in Christ!
“Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.” Ephesians 4:21–24 NLT
In Ephesians, you will learn Christ is the source and the guarantee of all spiritual riches, and those who are in Him have access to all that He is and has.
